Focused on wellbeing

Welcome to Yoglen, a small personal business delivering Yoga instruction in Cumbria.

While yoga has been practised for over 5,000 years, it wasn't until 2,000 years ago that Indian sage and author of several Sanskrit texts, Patanjali systematised the practice of yoga and documented his work, the Yoga Sutras, so that others could follow.

In recent years the Yoga following has surged as people reconnect with the range of benefits that it brings. Yoga is proven to increase strength and flexibility, immune system, focus, energy, metabolism, mindfulness, soothes skin (yes, it really does, as the skin is one of the first places in the body to display signs of stress and nutrient deficiency). Yoga gives you 'me time', hydrates the spine, increases cognitive function, improves breathing and posture. Yoga also has a healing benefit, as it generates body and mind balance, reduces anxiety and depression, helps to clear toxins and increases body awareness.

As you begin your journey you will find that you can't stop and it becomes part of your daily routine; whether that is at the beginning of the day to stimulate energy and drive, or at the end of the day to unwind and reset the balance.

This is the beauty of Yoga and the core of my practice, my classes are designed to meet your needs and support your life balance.

Like most people, I have a busy life and I find the 'balance' through Yoga. I have been studying Yoga for over 15 years, after being introduced to it as a method of rehabilitation from knee surgery. Yoga underpins everything that I do, enabling me to balance my professional life, family, health, wellbeing and fitness in an enjoyable and harmonious way.

I undertook my Yoga teacher training in India through the Yoga Alliance; with specialist teaching in Physiology, Hatha and Vinyasa flow, Anatomy, Philosophy, Pranayama, and Meditation, to enable me to deliver quality tuition and lifestyle support. My clients include beginners, and a wide range of ages and abilities, to include those recovering from illness or injury through to professional athletes. My ethos is to support your need, whatever that might be.

I look forward to sharing my practice with you and enabling you to bring the 'balance' back into your life.
